Dissolve the yeast in ¼ cup of lukewarm water along with 1 teaspoon of honey. Leave this mixture to rise for about 5 minutes until it becomes bubbly.
In a mixing bowl, add the remaining water and all-purpose flour. Pour in your dissolved yeast mixture and mix everything together quickly until combined.
Sprinkle in the salt and stir again until incorporated. If your dough feels too dry, add a little more lukewarm water.
Cover your bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and place it in a warm area. Allow it to rise for anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes until it has nearly doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 425° F (220° C).
Gently transfer the risen dough onto a non-stick baking sheet that's been sprinkled with flour, floured side facing up.
Using a very sharp knife, score the top of your loaf with shallow cuts.
Place your loaf in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 25 minutes until it's starting to turn golden brown. Then reduce the temperature to 325° F (160° C) and continue baking for an additional 10–15 minutes.
After removing from the oven, allow your loaf to cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before cutting into it.
